Main Meal Ministry
As you know, many needy families and individuals in our community go without proper food, shelter, and essential medical care every day due to a variety of factors, including low wages, job loss, injuries, illness, age, domestic violence, or divorce. While all of us are susceptible to hard times, children and the elderly are at the most risk, and they make up the largest number of clients we serve through our ministry.
Main Meal Ministry, a team organized through Youth Ministry here at St. Luke, is committed to do our part to make sure that the needy are getting a proper meal. On the third Thursday of every month at 6:30pm, parishioners, young and old, meet to prep, cook, and bake a complete meal to help those in need in our community. The late Paul Slovan was the biggest advocate of Main Meal Ministry and we continue this ministry with his persistence and hospitality in mind. The shelters that we deliver these meals to include the Salvation Army, St. Vincent de Paul, the Beatitude House and the Dorothy Day House.
Please feel free to join us!
